The NYS Center for Recruitment & Public Service is seeking an Assistant Appointments Counsel in Albany, NY. The Assistant Appointments Counsel will report to the Appointments Counsel and will support all of the office’s background check processes for appointees to NYS job and board positions. Specifically, the selected candidate will:
Applicants must have a minimum of two (2) years of legal experience. In addition, applicants must have demonstrated skills in legal research, analysis and writing, and strong organizational skills. Prior experience in New York State Government is preferred but not required. JD required.
Applicants must reside in (or intend to soon become a resident of) New York State and be admitted to practice law in New York State. Experience in a District Attorney’s Office and/or with criminal investigations would be helpful but is not required.
